VIDABOA Tours is a national brand registered with INPI under number 579541, representing a business project in the areas of Tourist Activities with the I.T.P. license. No. 398/2010 and Travel Agency with I.T.P. license. No. 7290/2017, headquartered in Vila do Conde. The company offers its clients activities/experiences/tours with walks in places selected for the uniqueness of their scenic beauty, cultural, heritage and gastronomic richness, operating in several regions of Portugal and Spain, standing out for the careful preparation of its programs.

Customer Profile

VIDABOA Tours’ clients are people who enjoy a form of leisure based on physical activity, combined with cultural, gastronomic, social and convivial elements, which provide a unique sense of life: living in harmony, living well. Participation in the experiments is open to anyone, as long as the participant is in good physical, mental and emotional health. Participants should consult their physician prior to participating to ensure they meet the minimum requirements to participate or refrain from participating in activities involving walking, particularly those classified as Moderate and Difficult. People with reduced mobility will be advised on a case-by-case basis by the company, depending on the specific conditions of the experience/tour.

Legal Aspects

VIDABOA Tours experiences are duly licensed by the Portuguese Tourism Institute under registration numbers 398/2010 and 7290/2017.

Programs

VIDABOA Tours’ experience/tour programs are intended for groups with a minimum number of participants, which varies according to each experience/tour and is defined by the organization.

An experience/tour can be carried out as a Private Group, where the group proposes and agrees with the company a specific date for the experience/tour. In this case, the experience cannot be opened to others unless the group gives explicit permission. Otherwise, the company reserves the right to include other participants in an Open Group experience/tour.

Guide’s Responsibility and Authority

Guides are responsible for organizing and managing the experience/tour. They must provide all necessary instructions, both before and after the start of the route, including information on the level of difficulty and duration of the routes, as well as on the natural, cultural or gastronomic heritage of the places visited. Participants must walk in a group, following the instructions of VIDABOA Tours guides to ensure maximum safety, with the guide’s instructions being final.

Participants must:

  • Be familiar with and comply with the General Terms and Conditions established here, as well as the specific conditions of each program and the guidelines provided by the guide during the activity.
  • Ensure advance payment for the experience/tour.
  • Ensure that they are in good health, both physically, mentally and emotionally, necessary to participate in the experience/tour. VIDABOA Tours is not responsible for any health problems arising from pre-existing conditions. Participants should consult their physician to confirm that they meet the minimum participation requirements or refrain from participating in walking activities, particularly those classified as Moderate+ or Difficult. People with reduced mobility will be advised on a case-by-case basis, depending on the conditions of the experience/tour.
  • Bring appropriate equipment for the experience/tour, including suitable footwear, clothing, sun and insect protection, personal medication, sufficient water, and protection against rain and cold.
  • Collect all waste produced and dispose of it at a recycling point or waste collection facility. Smokers must store cigarette butts with their trash and comply with current regulations regarding where/when smoking is permitted.
  • Assist the guide in case of accidents, emergencies, or assist other participants or individuals if necessary.
  • Respect natural heritage in an environmentally sustainable way and behave in a socially responsible manner.

Program Changes, Cancellation or Postponement

In case of force majeure, such as rain, bad weather or unforeseen circumstances beyond the control of the organization (such as fires, military operations, cancellation of authorizations, unexpected closures, or sudden illness of those responsible for the organization and logistics), the activity may be delayed, postponed partially or totally, or simply canceled by VIDABOA Tours. The company undertakes to promptly communicate these situations through the usual contact channels (telephone, email, website). VIDABOA Tours will refund payments made only in the event of cancellation without the possibility of postponement, but there will be no financial compensation. If there is a delay in starting the experiment/tour, the time must be compensated by extending the activity on the same day. In the event of postponement or replacement of the experience/tour, there will be no changes to the price or commercial conditions agreed in the original program. Experiments/tours postponed to a new date, scheduled within eight days, must be carried out within sixty days of the original date. VIDABOA Tours will inform the client of the dates available for postponement, and it is the client’s responsibility to confirm the new date in writing.

Third Party Liability

Whenever a program presents problems (such as absences, delays, errors, among others) directly attributed to subcontracted third parties, VIDABOA Tours assumes responsibility for dealing with these situations with the client. However, any compensation or damages repair process will be handled simultaneously by VIDABOA Tours and the responsible subcontractor.

Insurance and Liability

Experiences/tours are covered by insurance policies required by law. For personal accident (A.P.) and civil liability (R.C.) insurance, required by law for VIDABOA Tours, customers must send their name(s), date(s) of birth and identification number(s) (citizen card or equivalent document) and a telephone number to the company at least 48 hours in advance via email geral@vidaboa.pt. This submission and insurance request guarantee that the legal representatives of the person, group or institution that hires VIDABOA Tours have A.P. insurance coverage. and R.C. for the scheduled experiments/tours. If this information is not provided, contractors assume full responsibility for any accidents.

VIDABOA Tours and its representatives are not responsible for accidents or infractions committed during the journey to the activity or after it has taken place. VIDABOA Tours reserves the right to claim compensation for the loss or damage of equipment belonging to the company or third parties, provided to customers. Road accidents occurring during the experience/tour are not covered by these insurance policies, whether in private or rented vehicles, and drivers are responsible for such incidents. Traffic violations are the sole responsibility of vehicle drivers.

Insurance Coverage – FIDELITY

Tourist Entertainment Activity:

  • Civil Liability: Policy No. RC64317101 – Maximum limit of R$50,000. Deductible: R$10 compensation, with a minimum of R$200.
  • Personal Accidents: Policy No. AG64276424 – Death and Permanent Disability: R$20,000. Treatment Expenses: €3,500.

Travel Agency:

  • Civil Liability: Policy No. RC63809507 – Maximum limit of R$75,000. Excess: 10% of individual damages, with a minimum of €500 and a maximum of €2,500, including expatriate risk insurance.

Licensing

VIDABOA Tours is a Tourist Entertainment company, licensed under registration number 398/2010 and Travel Agency number 7290/2017. By law, a complaints book is available, which will be provided to customers upon express request within three business days, either at the company’s headquarters, located at R. Correio do Ave, 10 – 4480-943 Vila do Conde, or at another mutually agreed location.

Activity Selection

Group experiences/tours are always chosen and scheduled based on the client/group’s preferences and VIDABOA Tours’ availability. It is recommended to make selections as far in advance as possible. Cons

Confirmation of Activities

Confirmation and formalization of the experience/tour agreed with a client must always be done via email or letter with the authenticated document sent by the client. Accepted confirmation documents include customer purchase orders, purchase notes, or a letterhead, signed and stamped. This proposal must be confirmed up to 30 days before the date of the scheduled experiment/tour. It can be confirmed within a shorter period of time, as long as the availability of the date is verified. No dates are reserved for unconfirmed experiences/tours. Confirmation is considered provisional and the date is reserved upon receipt of the above mentioned document. Confirmation becomes official upon receipt of the agreed payment within five business days.

Prices

The prices shown are indicative and must be confirmed for each program upon request by the client. Prices include VAT and are valid until December 31, 2025.

Payment Conditions

50% of the total amount is due upon confirmation, with the balance to be paid up to 10 days prior to the experience/tour. If confirmation is made within 10 days of the experiment/tour, the full amount must be paid in one go.

Customer Cancellations/Withdrawals:

  • 1-Day Activities: If cancelled more than 24 hours in advance, the customer will receive a full refund. If cancelled less than 24 hours in advance, there will be no refund. If the program includes a meal, the decision to charge or not will be up to the service provider.
  • Activities of 2 or more days: If canceled within 30 days of the experience/tour, a full refund will be given. For cancellations up to 72 hours before the activity, 50% of the amount will be refunded. If cancelled less than 72 hours in advance, 20% of the amount will be refunded. Cancellations made less than 24 hours in advance will not be eligible for a refund.

Confirmation of Participants

The number of participants must be confirmed up to 48 hours before the activity via email or telephone. If the number of participants is less than the confirmed number, the originally confirmed number will be billed. If there is no confirmation, the minimum number of participants considered in the budget will be billed. In all cases, absences will be considered for billing purposes.
